How Do I Scan Photos Hands-Free in Photomyne?

Photomyne offers a few easy ways to scan photos without touching your phone each time: a Bluetooth shutter remote, Voice Control, or Auto Mode.

These hands-free options can make scanning multiple photos faster, steadier, and more comfortable.

Use a Bluetooth Shutter Remote

You can also use a Bluetooth shutter remote to scan without touching your phone.

To connect it:

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
  2. Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
  3. Find and select AB Shutter3.
  4. Wait until it shows as connected.
  5. Open Photomyne and go to the camera (scan) screen.
  6. Press the button on the remote whenever you want to capture a scan.

For the best hands-free setup: Pair your Bluetooth shutter remote with our sturdy phone mount to keep your phone steady and positioned directly above your photos. This helps prevent blurry or uneven scans and makes scanning large collections even easier. You can learn more about our Phone Mount on Amazon.

Good to know: The Bluetooth remote also works with your phone’s regular camera app, not just Photomyne.

Use Voice Control

Voice Control lets you scan hands-free by simply saying “Go.”

To set it up:

  1. Open the Photomyne app.
  2. Go to the camera (scan) screen.
  3. Tap the Voice Control icon at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap Enable Voice Control.
  5. Allow access to:
    • Microphone
    • Speech Recognition
  6. When you're ready to scan, simply say “Go.”

The app will automatically capture the photo without you needing to tap the capture button.

Good to know: Voice Control is available on iPhone and iPad only. For the best results, keep your device steady when you say “Go.”

Use Auto Mode

Auto Mode can automatically capture your photo for you.

To turn it on:

  1. Open Photomyne and go to the camera (scan) screen.
  2. Look at the bottom-right side of the screen.
  3. Turn on the Auto Mode toggle.
  4. Position your photo and let the app capture it automatically.

Auto Mode is available on supported iPhone 15–17 Pro and Pro Max models.
